and balked at the price - AUD or USD it's still ALOT.

I had some notion that "they included" some flat, battery-shaped gizmo that slid onto the battery charger and which had a cable that plugged the camera... - But that must have been for some other device.

Well, I'll see what the local Crake's have got.

If you're wondering why, it's to maintain power to the camera to retain date/time/other settings while swapping out the battery. Yes..., it loses all that again - alas! It'll be another trip to Japan in the new year - alack!

With the PG-21 battery pack attached I swap out one battery at a time with my old SD15 & that holds the time, date etc.  You could do the same with the PG-31 on the SD1M.
