For me, a Phone - which is rarely used for longer than two years - can never replace an ILC, so I rarely use it for photos. But that's just my point of view.

If I want a system camera, it should be small, especially if I want it for walking, travelling or just for fun. And the M-system can deliver (for me) all that I need.

And the R? Of course, small primes. But the package of camera and lenses will always be larger, heavier und (far) more expensive than the M-system.

It is just that Canon wants us to believe, that only the R-system can fulfill all of our photographic wishes. I prefer the M-system.

Agreed. I have no interest in buying the latest and greatest phone (for photography or otherwise) or a large expensive FF system. Perhaps people like us are a dying breed. If M is discontinued, I'd be looking to replace it with a different APS-C system or maybe even M4/3.
