Heads up, I'm seeing a high rate of shutter shock / AF miss / IS gyro shift on my continuous bursts... I saw this also on the M6 Mark II, but, at 14FPS, picking the sharpest wasn't a big deal other than processing power needed to do so.

diagnosis will not be easy

can we see some pics?

.

I've ratcheted back up to high speed FPS and C-RAW to help mitigate and will re-attempt. This is with continuous AF off.

ss? motion pics? lots of questions here

.

Thoughts on culprit? Folks around here assumed it was shutter shock / M6 Mark II. I'm seeing it on the M50 Mark II.

since the M6II lacks EFCS -- and the M50II does not -- then some leaped to claim that between ss 1/60 and ss 1/200 the M6II had shutter shock with those light weight IS zooms you have -- 15-45 and 55-200 - but not in the primes

Some like Alastair attributed it to the cheap IS mechanisms in these light weight zooms combined with the harsher shutter in the m6II at these slower shutter speeds

I have shutter shock in my 55-250 stm at ss 1/60 and 1/80 but not higher

I took several segments of 29 RAW bursts in 2 seconds with my 55-250 stm @ ss 1/250 on my M6II during recent event and had sharp pics that met my decisive moment expectations

I have no shutter shock in my 100L which is heavier and has good IS system -- took them between 1/60 and higher -- i haven't tested it slower.

.

I didn't see it on my time with the M50 Mark I, but, then again, I wasn't using continuous drive / AI-servo so heavily. Well I was, but maybe I've gotten more picky? Might have to go back to the archives but the problem wasn't this, problematic. I also wasn't using the 15-45 though heavily back then either.

Could be a 15-45 idiosyncrasy where the STM motor is catching up?

these STM motors are not high sports/action lenses - give me Nano USM any day

I don't think it is shutter shock if you are above ss 1/200 but the STM systems keeping up

above ss 1/200, IS in those cheap zooms isn't going to help unless you are panning

at those higher SS, you could even try turning IS off

please keep us apprised with pics

I posted the phenomenons above; you responded before I attached, apologies.

Of note, my R setup has no IS, and has a USM motor. I’m thinking the issue may be those small lightweight lenses shake easily, and the STM motors take a bit to get there. Considering the M6 II and M50 II share the issue, I think this likely.

My best countermeasure is perhaps continuous AF, and high FPS full time. Dunno. Going to see what can be done.

The ol G1X III doesn’t share the issue either, btw. It has other hiccups though.
