Now not even be biased why did the M-Mount not get the new sigma lens. Sony makes some great aps-c camera but none of them outsell the M50.

Collectively, the Sony E mount outsells the EF-M mount by a large margin. Sony's head start in the mirrorless market also means their user base is far, far larger.

The R mount is highly guarded I get that but canon really aren't introducing a lot of glass for the M-mount let somebody do it.

This new Sigma lens lacks stabilization which limits the utility on M bodies as none have IBIS.

That is a problem. A quick Google search for "Canon EF-M with IBIS" showed rumours that it was coming in reports going back about 18 months, but nothing recently. I really need an M5 mark II with IBIS.

For a long time I promised myself I wouldn't upgrade until that camera became a reality, but I eventually succumbed to the desire for RAW burst mode with pre-shooting and focus bracketing in the M6 mark II. I hate using the external viewfinder though, but can't manage without it.

I'd still be interested in a 2.8 zoom though. I've been tempted by the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8, but the size puts me off. Kind of negates the advantage of having a small camera. The weight is slightly less, but by the time the viewfinder is added, there's very little difference to the size on the 80D which I still own.
