However, that said, I doubt that will facilitate people jumping back to Nikon. It just simply entices them to stay and wait. But I think Nikon did well overall, and stopped the customer bleed-off they were having. Personally, I know someone who just killed a A1 order and de-listed his lenses for sale, so the plan is working.
Actually ever since the R5 is out, I have 3 personal photo friends jump " back" in Canon land and got rid of their Sony, a lot of Sony shooters are actually previously Canon and Nikon shooters and just because both were so far behind in mirrorless so people kind of " forced" to jump ship, myself included just can't resist the 7R II back then the Canon was so far behind in sensor development, but I really hate Sony ergonomic so only use it for landscape and for hiking and backpacking, but unlike most people , I hang on to my 2 1D series body and kept all my Canon Nikon lenses knowing Canon and Nikon will eventually catch up.
Fast forward to 2021, I am so tempted to jump back on the R3 but just can't get over the low resolution after I am so used to the 45 and 60MP after all these years, so now with the Z9 I think I found my next camera, so I can replace both my D850 and D500 and even the 1Dx all with this new body. but I am still patiently waiting for the R1 with higher resolution high DR sensor, I know the R5 is pretty close already but I really want to stick with the 1D/R3 style body ergonomics.
