Anyone tried the new Godox MF12 macro flash?
Oct 31, 2021
Hi,
Has anyone tried the new Godox MF12 macro flash? There was a thread here two months ago when it was announced with a few theories about what it might be like to use. Has anyone actually bought one? Experience?
I'm looking for a small light macro flash for use in the field when hiking including multi-night hiking when space and weight are premium considerations. I dislike ring flashes - because of the unnatural flat lighting. Real light is directional. Circular catch-lights also look odd. Using a regular flash on a bracket or stand with a TTL cable requires more junk on one's back. A single MF12 looks like it might do the trick and I already have a Godox wireless controller. Anyone out there been an early adopter?
Thx in advance. Cheers, Rod
