You charge what the market iswilling to pay. If running a business one would be stupid to just throw away goid money.

Seems desperate.

The increase in market share would be very limited anyway (why give up an entire camera and lens collection because one single camera - most are not that stupid). By lowering the price profit margins plunge. Further limiting the future ability to do R&D for new products.

Lower price is a downward spiral for any company.

The camera market has always been unpredictable and fast changing. Just take a look at the history of cameras and recording media.
