I did that. have set the rear command dial to AF lock. I lock exposure by half pressing the shutter.
However the option in menu to change lock af, ae or both is missing

Are you sure you scrolled through all the pages? It should be there, “AF LOCK ONLY”.
Under settings no such thing. However, i can assign function button to ae only, af only or both. So, the feature is there but i was sure the setting exist in setup menu (wrench)
Neven
If you want the button to do something different, you have to assign it a different function (as I described earlier - NOT in the wrench menu). There is a setting in the wrench menu for how the button will operate - only when pushed, or locked until you press it again.
Personally, I assign AF-ON to the rear command dial and use that to focus in “M” mode when I want my focus to remain locked between shots (for panos etc.).
Yes,yes,i got it now. I had the setting right all the time but i imagined the setup option disapearred
I also use rear comm dial to lock focus , and shutter half way to lock exposure. In spot metering it makes a huge difference.
Thank you
Neven
I really don’t understand why anyone would use a spot meter with a mirrorless camera and real-time exposure preview, but I’m glad you got your buttons sorted out.
