Future of the fp: following the Nikon Z9?

From the Z9 announcement on DPR, " It's also one of relatively few cameras on the market to completely forego a mechanical shutter, a design decision made possible by the impressively fast read-out speed of the new sensor."

Sample shots include 1/2000 sec images without a rolling shutter effect.
