Problem is driver not printer?

My wife Ann uses Lightroom CC on her iPad and when she wants to print (which is quite regularly) we have to transfer the files to Lightroom CC Classic and print from that program....

We generally print colour using LR printer controls and a paper profile on the PC....

Is there a printer where we could get consistent ‘fine art’ pigment ink prints via WiFi from LR CC direct from the iPad please?

I thought the fundamental problem is that the Apple AirPrint drivers don't offer the controls / facilities for color-managed printing, and that there is no alternative to AirPrint when printing from an iPad. If this is correct, then I don't see how any printer you might buy can fix your problem.

FWIW, I'd be happy to learn I'm wrong. My own experience with this is minimal, setting up my mother-in-law's iPad to print to her lower-end Canon inkjet. There sure didn't seem to be more than the most basic of options. Conversely, when I set up for my parents a modest wireless Canon all-in-one, fully color-managed printing from their Windows machines worked as expected (the printer installer even placing ICC profiles for several common Canon photo papers).
