Forget the Z9 News... lets talk about the original 7D! :)

1. Why do you like your 7D so much?

2. Why is it so much fun to shoot with, still, after 12 years of life?

3. Would you recommend it to stills photographers as a first "serious" camera?

My answers...

1. It has this almost intangible but highly magnetic draw, likely because of the sum of so many of its well balanced attributes. Quality build, check. Reliability, check. Comfort, check. Image quality, check. Performance, check.

2. It's one of those special cameras that's been refined for still shooters. It's still got the chops to handle a wide range of tasks, even though it's older. It's not so complicated to use either, which eases the mental work required to operate it. Feels great in the hand, begs me to pick it up and shoot with it. Many cameras lack that very important quality.

3. Absolutely. Forget price for a moment, it's a perfect platform to get started on to develop photography skills and make excellent photographs with. With its high availability and low price, you can get a near new one for almost nothing, allowing more money to be used for lens purchases.
