Could video ever replace stills photography
1

Watching the Z9 presentation it occurred to me that, with the quality of video increasing from 1080p to 4K and now 8K (and I guess 16K and so on in the future), is there any chance that video cameras could achieve such high quality that people dispense with photography entirely and just pull stills from video when they want single images?

Needless to say, I'm hoping that I'm worrying unnecessarily!

I'm assuming that the 1/60 speed at which most video is shot at would still cause too much motion blur for most situations involving stills. I'm also guessing that still photographers can pick and choose to focus on specific moment, whereas videographers have to focus on the overall action.

What do you think?
