Sometimes a camera is just a joyous event recorder - Alaska

Lots of pixel-peepers relish the thought of pointing out the incredible resolution to be had from “great” equipment, or enjoy thrashing poor technique.

Sometimes you “just” use a camera to record a joyous occasion. My wife and I just spent five days near Anchorage, Alaska for our 40th and I hauled along my Z7 and handful of lenses.

The Z7 is not perfect. But … it is easily the best camera system I have ever owned.

My favorite hiking partner.  End of the trail near Whittier, AK.

Waterfall near Whittier, AK

Stream with Aspen (Beech?) leaves, Hope, AK.

Crow in Whittier, AK

Aspen (Beech?) bark, Hope, AK. Heavy crop from horizontal shot.

Sunset near Whittier, AK. Notes to self: 1) don’t throw unwanted sticks blocking scene into water lest they drift into scene; 2) when sticks thrown into water to eliminate from scene drift into scene, be careful that rocks thrown into water to (hopefully) drive them out of scene are not mis-thrown so they splash salt water on expensive camera gear.

Ice, lake and mountains near Girdwood, AK.

Moose just outside Anchorage, AK. HeVy crop from 24-200mm lens at 200mm.

Ptarmigan, Flattop Peak, near Anchorage AK.
