No surprise, the M6 II is the better camera in autofocus. It’s also got more oomph in FPS, buffer, noise handling, plus uncropped 4K.

Now which camera is preferable? That’s the question…

and what is your answer?

Don't have one yet.

After a ton of shooting with it, it's fun, but, the M6 II is the better tool, as it should be.

There was a lot of speculation (on the forum) that the M50 Mark II has the better autofocus, nope. M6 II does, easily at that.

Now obviously if Canon gave the M6 II the M50 Mark II firmware upgrades, that'd improve it's already stellar AF.

It does reinforce the other chief compliant around here: an M5 Mark II really would be nice (it's obvious Canon won't do it though as the RF platform is their chosen path forward). I would agree after having had both the M50 Mark II and M6 Mark II. EFCS, DSLR-type body and a fully articulating screen aren't small potatoes. Neither is uncropped 4K, faster readout sensor with better noise and resolution, more FPS, either.

I have a proposed solution: you and your wife like to shoot the m50II

give her the m50II with the zooms

you get the m6II with the primes

his and hers
