Advice on buying camera/lenses

I have a Z6 and 24-70 f/4 S. I’d like to get a longer lens for doing some nature photography.

The AF-S 200-500 f/5.6 seems to be really good value for money.

So (since I don’t have the FTZ adapter) I’m thinking that that lens would go especially well with a D500 (effectively making it a 300-750)...

Unfortunately, while there are still a couple of 200-500 lenses kicking about, there aren’t any D500s in stock here

Now, I’d alsolike a Z 24-200 for a walking holiday next year. Again, none in stock.

But I did see a Z6 II + FTZ adapter + Z 24-200 lens...

So I’m considering getting the Z6 II kit and the 200-500 lens and trying to sell the Z6 body (which is still in perfect condition). And maybe get a D500 later.

If I can get €1000 for the Z6 I’d end up with:

Z6 upgraded to II,

Z 24-200 / 4 - 6.3 along with my Z 24-70 / 4 S

AF-S 200-500 / 5.6 along with the FTZ adapter.

for 3130 €.

Does any of this sound insane? I don’t really feel the need to upgrade my Z6. I’d rather just get the D500 plus the two tele zooms for 3670 €.

Getting the Z6 II kit now and the D500 later would cost about 1000 € more overall (but I’d have upgraded the Z6 to a Z6 II and got the FTZ adapter, neither of which I particularly want)... :-/

It’s just that if I wait until things are in stock again I can easily imagine not getting the 24-200 by spring

The soon to be announced Z 100-400 S (+ a 1.4x teleconverter) will presumably be a lot more expensive than the AF-S 200-500 and have a worse aperture at the tele end (assuming it’s not a constant f/4)?

sigh. First world problems...
