Eurasian tree sparrow or »Poljski vrabec« in Slovene (Passer montanus) is a songbird of the sparrow family.

It is considered an extremely widespread species. It usually measures about 15 cm in length and weighs about 24g, making it slightly smaller than the House Sparrow. It is most clearly distinguished from the latter by the chocolate brown upper part of its head and the black patch on its otherwise pale cheeks.

From a distance, it can be distinguished from the House Sparrow by the narrow, white band on the nape of the neck. Both sexes are identically colored. The wingspan is about 21 cm. Some consider it to be a pest, as it damages the buds of crops.
