Mini-Challenge #566 - Sky
2

First, please forgive me possible language problems; English is not my first nor even second language, so if I write somehow unclear, feel free to ask me for explanation, I'll try my best.

For me, the most fascinating things in autumn happen in atmosphere. Storms, winds, clouds and mist make our ceiling a show that never repeats.

Thus I want to declare new topic as "Sky". Of course, the photos don't have to show the sky alone; what I have in mind are pictures where the sky plays role important enough that the picture would be radically changed if shot under different one. The example pictures I show beneath are (I hope) examples of three possible takes: the texture of clouds, the colorful sunset decorating otherwise pretty boring scene, and the near monochrome picture where color alone says "late summer afternoon".

Of course, don't feel bound by these examples, the only binding rule is "another sky will change the picture immensely". Skies of day and night, lit and black, clouded or clear... Just no composites, please.

Contest closes Sunday, 31 October at 12:00 UTC (universal time, GMT, Greenwich time); I have decided to use UTC, as we are entering the period of daylight time changes in some places, so referring to any local time could be confusing.

THE RULES (copied from an older post)

The host gives you a topic of interest and you get going.

You may enter up to three competition images.

Please reply to the FIRST (ORIGINAL) post only if you are submitting an entry and please remember to change the Subject of your post to display your name or picture titles.

This way, when someone comments (i.e. replies), it will refer specifically to you. If all entries read "Re: Mini-Challenge #566 – Sky" - it would be very boring to scan the list.

Please state whether your submission is an ENTRY or EXHIBIT.

If you do not wish to enter the MC and host the next challenge should you win, please state your submission as "Exhibition" in the subject line (or in the message text).

The host chooses the winner after the challenge closes (usually after one week). The decision of the judge (the host) is final. The judge is not eligible.

The winner then chooses the next topic, runs the challenge, judges the winner, and passes on the baton to that person.

If you submit a photo, please check in when the winners are posted. The first place winner is expected to host the next challenge.

If the first place person cannot host or does not respond within three days, it moves to the 2nd place, etc.

Any picture you've taken is eligible regardless of time taken and camera.

Try to put your entries within a 'single' post.

Please give a title to each photo - this makes it easier to differentiate when giving comments.

Feel free to comment on other contestants' images.

POSTING GUIDELINES

Please embed your image in the thread. As a show of courtesy, and for clarity, please remove the original post when replying, so you don't bring back any previous photos unless you discuss (refer to) them.
