Using lighter setups on fluid video heads

Hi everyone,

Bought this MVH502AH for wildlife photography and videography. With heavier setups, like my SIGMA 150-600mm and my EOS 7D, and it’s properly balanced, everything is fine, except for the extreme ends of the tilt range whereby it will bounce back to it’s previous positions.

Having tried a lighter setup with my EOS 7D and EF-S 18-135mm, this issue is further exaggerated. If I tilt it up and let go, it would just bounce back to it’s original position.

Does this mean that using video heads have a minimum payload weight for them to no longer exhibit this issue? I have concerns about putting the lock on for too long to counter this and damaging the internal components of the video head
