Neewer Bowens Mount Fresnel Lens with Barn Door
1

On a whim, I purchased this thinking I might be able to get a semi clean edged spot - using a flash (even though this is made for continuous)

This is what I got (tested with an AD200/bulb in SMount bracket). While it does "focus" - it's not very sharp - or very round. The not round part could be my using it with the AD200 - the housing may not be designed for flash bouncing around inside it....even with the round bulb head.

I'm also feeling like it's not the real deal as the manufacturer pictured glass (with rings) but it's plastic with a honeycomb gridded pattern on the lens.

Widest vs tightest pattern

So - it's "sorta" works - not great. A cheap toy at $60. The barn doors could be useful for stylized looks.... What do you all think? Maybe I'm better off with a snoot?
