find of the day.

miniature flower wasps mating.

Probably Subfamily Thynnine .  Only the male has wings.  He is much larger than the female and she is designed to burrow,  looking for beetle grubs to lay eggs on.

The male didn't like me being this close.  Just as I was ready to shot at a low angle to show the female, he  turned away and took off.

Large file.  This is the moment that I first saw the tiny crab spider.

It is the most interesting color that i have seen so far.

I got a lot closer but it still needed cropping.

I think the spider decided the beetle was too hard to handle.

In jumping position.  I thought I would lose track of it.

It decided not to jump just yet.

I don't really know if this is a parasitic wasp or not.  It probably is.

It was moving around so fast, I didn't think I would get a shot.  After watching it for a time, I saw that it had several spots that it landed over and over.  Then I had to wait for it to come to the spot I was waiting for it to land on.  Then, i had to be quick to get a shot.

My patience wore out about the same time my endurance did.
