GFX100S Post Processing

I tend to do a lot of post, and rarely have a photo with fewer than 4-5 layers.  I like to keep all of the layers so that I can go back later and make incremental changes to 1 or more layers without having to recreate the entire workflow.  If I flatten the image before saving it, I lose that ability.  The problem is that these GFX100S files get really huge really quickly.  I almost always have to save my Photoshop files as PSB, and sometimes TIFF.  Is there any sort of workaround for this, or is it just the cost of working with those beautiful GFX files?  Thanks!
