6D Mk II Doesn't Play Well With Tamron

Just got a new 6D MK II and I love it. But imagine my surprise when I mounted my Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 (old model) and discovered live view doesn't work! I thought oh crap, something is wrong with my new camera. But after doing some research I found that it's the lens.

Tamron offers a firmware upgrade that fixes this, but only on newer lenses. I need live view so I am now the proud owner of a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS III. I also now own a totally empty wallet. I use this focal length zoom more than any other lens so I bought the Canon L pretty quickly. But dang, I wasn't expecting this.
