Adobe ecosystem vs Affinity

Full disclosure - beginner at Photo Editing.

I currently use Affinity on my iPad, but I see that most good amateurs and pros seem to use Lightroom.  I have resisted exploring this further as I prefer not to pay $ 13 a month in perpetuity.  If the clear benefit is there, I will.

Most of my Photos are Birds and I recently upgraded to Sony a7RIII from APS C Sony.  I am using the same lens Sony 100-400.  When very bright conditions the ISO is low and I get good sharpness but most of the time I get some softening especially since I use a 1.4X converter.

If I understand it correctly, Lightroom is a RAW and Exposure Tool and if I want to do anything much further I would have to use Photoshop whereas Affinity provides both in one ecosystem - is this correct ?

Perhaps I am not looking in the right places, but I do not know if Affinity sharpen tool is as good as Adobe or adding Topaz (this latter point may be moot as Topaz does not work on iPad but I do have a MacBook)

Grateful for your opinion - while I would like to produce good images, I will not be printing them for sale or expect to be hired by National Geographic !
