I am going to add few of my observations:
- M6 mk II is too small for large lenses
- I need builtin viewfinder
- RF is where all the interesting development is happening at the moment
but these are my reasons for not getting M6ii, I own the old M6 and I am going to use it and M3 until it breaks down.
A wise pro photographer taught me
lenses first -- figure out the lenses you need first -- lenses are the art makers
then after you figure out your lens road map -- figure out your bodies
Not all of us are professional photographers. Some of us are just casual photographers. For me, it's more important to have the camera with me at all times hence the importance of size and weight. My M100+22mm is always at arms reach. I'll sacrifice some of the photo quality for portability. I like to take random shots of every day things that I find amusing. I can't carry a camera bag with me my entire waking hour.
If I'm a professional photographer then yes, photo quality will be my main priority over size. It would be a different story.
It's like arguing what is best, cars vs. trucks vs. SUV vs. motorcycle.
+1 Size and weight mean a LOT to me too (at times).
It's great to have a lot of options!

Right ? 4 clicks and B&H will send me a new R5 ! ?
They are in stock too !
Won't be parting ways with my M6II though.
I have kept a Canon cropped and full fame sensor since my 5D.
I always thought if I called myself a photographer I should have both.
Someone please convince me otherwise.
Some of my photography gurus used cropped sensors.
I try not to post on the R forum.
When I get it and get time maybe I will add it to my gear list.
I will try not to brag about it on the M forum.
Sharing a decision to go full blown into the RF system is not bragging. It is sharing a perspective that others may learn from. That learning includes why they should not do it, as much as why they should think about it.
I don't earn an extra buck by bragging. We all learn from each other by sharing.
When you lavished the M6ii with praises to the highest heavens as you discovered DxO PureRaw, I didn't think you were bragging. Maybe I was wrong
Yes you are wrong. I have never used DxO PureRaw.
I bragged up PL4 though. Not on the Fuji forum though.
And I pointed out that some AI programs sometimes do add detail that did not come from the sensor.
I am not so sure everyone was real glad to hear that.
I promised myself if I survived this pandemic mess for a year I was going to buy a R5 so I have one coming.
I was waiting awhile for them to get the bugs out of the new model.
Got rid of my gear list and I won't be bragging about it.
Brag about anything you want to.
