Red is for "Warning"...Australian Black Widow
8

Just for fun I decided to partly black-in the Redback spider aka the Australian Black Widow to make it look even creepier!

The Redback spider is highly venomous but though extremely unlikely lethal the bite can cause severe pain lasting at least 24 hours even after been treated with the antivenom.  The female does everything, build the web and catches the prey. The male much, much smaller than the female just goes around looking for other females to mate.  You might say "lucky males" but...not really...in most cases the female eats the male while mating.

Also the females don't need the male every time they have to fertilize new eggs. In fact the female can save some male sperm and use it up to two years!

Well here is the infamous Redback.
