FF dslr have nothing to do with today FF mirrorless regarding size and weight. I use only an Eos-m3 with 18-55mm so for me have instead a similar full frame lens with a FF mirrorless of whatever system doesn't rapresent the minimum problem. At the contrary I will have more succesful photos in the difficult light situations I often like to take photos.
This conversation goes stranger ways... but what the heck. It's not the body. It's the lenses that make the difference.
We all have different photography needs. I, for one, am not using my efm 15-45 although my copy is realy good.
My most used lenses are efm 11-22, 32, 56 and 22 as the least used lens... but I won't give it up.. no way.
If I go RF then the rf 14-35/4 is the closest to the efm 11-22 I'm gonna get. And please don't start on the F number and 14mm vs 18 mm field of view. The 14-35 is about the same size as my ef 17-40. And the price is just ridiculous for a hobbist like me. I became quite sober about my photography skills and needs when I first bought into the FF system many years ago and then through all the years I used the kit.
So I either have to buy into ridiculously expensive RF lenses (for what I do)... or use my existing EF lenses with an RF body.
The latter is an option I often play with in my mind. The RF bodies are not out of reach for me. However this means I am carrying the same camera bag with the same amount of glass and a smaller camera body. ANd that camera bag was the reason I lost my enthusiasm in photography some time ago.
Now I never said RF bodies were bad. Neither I said that the OP made a bad choice. I said this was great if he could afford an RF kit and was willing to carry it around when traveling.
I hope I made my point clear and did not steal the OP's line of conversation.
