I am going to add few of my observations:

  1. M6 mk II is too small for large lenses
  2. I need builtin viewfinder
  3. RF is where all the interesting development is happening at the moment

but these are my reasons for not getting M6ii, I own the old M6 and I am going to use it and M3 until it breaks down.

Loved the M6ii, on the other hand. Though the M6 was what drew me into the M system.

But you're right, the RF is simply Canon's overriding priority and it will be for a very long time. For personal use, I'm covered from 16mm to 400mm. For paid shoots, I'm good with my 85mm and about to grab the 50mm 1.2 plus my current RF35mm for product photography.

This is an M series forum so it is understandable for some people to disagree with my choice. However, the whining is borderline juvenile, that's the part I surely won't miss, just like the Fuji bashing when after having spent a few days with the XS10, I was wowed by what the system can do.

We all need to be comfortable with people choosing products we don't like, or disliking products we choose without putting down what they selected. Otherwise, we deny ourselves the value of objective discussion.

And for all of that, the one thing I'll miss with the M6II that the RP can't match is its 4k video. If I didn't have the R6 for that, it would have been a harder decision because I do my share of corporate training videos. In the rampage of trolls sometimes, people lose sight of the more valid arguments.
