It sounds like you have put a lot of thought into this change and it seems like you are making a very rational decision.

Personally, I have not been a fan of running multiple systems with different mounts. In the end, these mixed systems always seem to end up bigger, heavier, more expensive, and less efficient than just focusing on a single system. Sometimes that big and expensive lens actually ends up being a bargain when you eliminate the need for bodies and accessories that are not cross-compatible.

True. Had I decided to sell my entire M series gear, I would have fetched more than enough to buy a really good prime RF lenses. Yes it was, to say the least, more costly to run two systems. And less convenient. It did feel I was doing it for portability. I guess that part is partially correct but no longer worth all the other compromises. Like spending less time on DxO PureRaw which can sometimes hostage my high-end desktop for hours. Often I'll let it run overnight. It's a PC config that tops at around 125 watts. That ain't cheap on my electric bills.

Wow ! You work for Intel and can't afford to run your computer. Sorry to hear that.

2 big oak trees fell in my yard and I am now thinking solar panels.
