Every Z body built so far has inferior AF when compared to a dslr in its class,

Inferior in which way? The ability to focus using a focus point anywhere in the viewfinder?  The Z cameras win. No need to calibrate each lens? The Z cameras win. Eye-AF? The Z cameras win.

It's only in AF-C that the Z cameras so far could use further improvements, some of them already provided by firmware updates, or by the second gen of Z cameras.

that’s not going to change anytime soon , Nikon’s proven this since they rolled out the first Z and nothings changed since then or did I miss something ,

Yes, your reasoning missed several things, In addition to the improvements mentioned above, Nikon must be keenly aware that it needs to bring the Z9 AF-C  on par to the competition, if not better. Or the reputation of being the system with the lesser AF will stay. Using a sensor without blackout will help (another area where the Z9 is better than the Nikon dSLR flagship: no mirror blackout). After all the Z9 is - as the D6 - a camera oriented for action, or its 30FPS would make no sense (how much FPS does the D6, BTW?) . All of that at 45MPs (what is the D6 resolution, again?).

We shall see when the camera is released. The advice to the O/P to wait for its release and the first reviews is a good one. This being said he won't go wrong with an A9 ...
