It depends a bit on your frame of reference. As a complement to a full frame system, it makes little sense. As a standalone system that occupies the middle ground between EF-M and RF, it can make a lot of sense.

The two Fuji prime lenses I tried on the XS10 attest to what you wrote. Those can produce delicious photos. Would have set me back for around 3k USD with the body and all the lenses I wanted. But kind of too late for me as I've decided to go all FF and RF, to save money too over time.
