I used a Minolta Colormeter III with flash receptor back in the film era. I never needed to calibrate it and it was dead accurate.

That said, I sold it when I went digital. I simply don't see much point in owning one if you shoot raw.

Only once, in the 15-20 years I've shot digital, did I run across a situation where raw would not clean up a situation. It was in an experimental petrochemical lab in Rice University that used the weirdest lights I've ever seen to avoid reactions with the chemicals.
