RF 16mm 2.8 in close up, and something with a cat
2

No cat, no proper test pics! All on R5.

Also, some close ups, and against the EF 16-35 III. Both shots at same settings and F/5.

the Rf 16mm. This is a crop from a larger file, mostly showing the center.

the 16-35 2.8 III, also a crop. Both shot at F/5

The 16mm when stopped down a bit is doing quite well I think. I also took some close ups wide open with both lenses and here the 16mm held it's ground fairly well too. Is the 16-35 the better one in terms of 100% viewed sharpness? Yes if you look critically, and faster focussing too perhaps, but for this amount of money the RF 16mm seems like quite a good deal.

at f/3.5

also at 3.5

f/3.5, iso 100, 1/1250th

same settings

I took it with me on an assignment and wasn't so impressed, but this looks a bit better (indoor yesterday, mainly high iso).

One the profiles for LR are there it should be much more practical for me in use too, but I love the light weight of this thing.

So, it's a keeper for me!
