I'll do a test today to hopefully put this discussion to rest. The article you cited doesn't say that the efficacy is reduced, it flat out says it's not available in C-RAW, which is just not true. That's why I think the article is simply wrong. But we'll see. The only time there is even any perceptible difference between C-RAW and RAW is when you're doing extreme dynamic range pushing, and even then only at extreme magnifications. This is according to articles I've read and my own testing. I would wager adding DLO into the mix will not change that.

I do apologize for contributing to this thread going off-topic. I'll post the comparisons in a new thread.

no apologies needed

I've never used C-RAW

and I recommend using DXO PL4 Elite instead

Since you keep talking about it so much, I've taken your advice and downloaded the trial. I like it pretty well so far. The Deep Prime noise reduction module is obviously its best feature. Other than that, I think I like it better than DPP4, but I don't know if I like it enough to justify the cost. Now, if they would support my Sony RX0 with a cropped 1" sensor, which could really use the noise reduction more often, that might tip the scales for me. Anyway, I'll keep using it for the rest of the 30-day trial and see what I think at the end.
