Thx RLight. Interesting thread, I learned a lot. I have an M100 with Sigma 30 f/1.4 and an EOS RP/6D with a lot of EF lenses, but I am hesitating for a long time to add the M50ii for the better Eye-AF and the EVF and the compact design, and now you convinced me. I will add the Sigma 56 f/1.4. A lot of folks were bashing the "firmware upgrade", but I think it is a great cute little camera. And powerfull enough for my photography. The better autofocus is often overlooked, but it is very helpfull for candid family photo's. I like my RP but I don't like the insane RF prices. Disappointing! I will never pay those prices. I won't make better photo's with RF lenses. Exceptions are the cheaper RF16mm or RF50mm and so, really something for the RP. I will work with adapted EF lenses, and give the M50ii a try. Just waiting for a Black Friday little discount...
I wonder if the Eye-AF of the M50 ii is better than the Eye-AF of the RP? What do you think?
It's a hair better than my R in fact, which in turn is better than the RP. Just talking eye-AF though. In other regards, my R is better than the M50 Mark II (low-light, obviously).
Personally, I don't want to lug an RP+RF 100-400, 24-105 IS STM around, I'd rather lug around a M50 II + 15-45, 55-200 around. Price is better too, obviously. And when you're talking non-L RF glass? You're talking EF-M glass in terms of "punch". It isn't till you touch RF-L glass it really starts to sing, and boy does it. Sticker shock too though.

The 24-105 IS STM isn't bad in size, but, that 100-400 although a huge advancement, it's still huge. I did the R + adapted 70-300 DO IS for a bit, which was small enough, barely, and I mean barely. Yet, the 100-400 is still larger. Canon really has to embrace DO optics on a zoom to make an RF optic small enough to compete with an M. Surprised they didn't actually, but they want to keep that cost down. Again, all compromises. The M ain't dead yet in terms of use case, not by a long shot.
Do keep in mind the M200 and M6 II give you excellent eye-AF. M50 Mark II is REALLY scarce in supply at the moment. The M50 Mark II may get an Xmas discount, but, will there be any stock? That's another problem...
