Conversion from CR3 to TIFF creating weird artifacts?
1

I'm just getting in to this so I'm sure I'll use some wrong terminology here.

I am using a Canon M50. I'm shooting raw. I'm converting with DPP to TIFF. Typically I am using ACDSee as my "digital asset manager" and then doing editing in Corel Photoshop.

I don't remember seeing this before, but I've converted some images and I'm seeing some weird artifacts, at least when viewed with ACDSee. Some have big areas of sky and there will be a big area of pixelated pink. I have some dark rocks that have some really electric green spattered about.

Some things of note:

  • When I view the corresponding RAW file in DPP, looks okay
  • When I convert the file to TIFF using ACDSee's converstion, that looks okay. I have not usually used ACDSee's conversion because it darkens the pictures--went around with them a year ago and they insisted it doesn't, even though I provided side by side examples where it does

Any ideas on this? I hadn't used my photo tools in a few months, but I don't remember having issues with this before. I *am* on a new laptop, not sure if that would be a factor.

Thanks!

Canon EOS M50 (EOS Kiss M)
