Re: Color meter reference light sources

I have an old Gossen Colormaster 3F that was reading my Yongnuo 968N flash firing at 1/8 power as 4850 Kelvins, 0 CC. I have placed Rosco gel in front of the sensor (inside the flat diffuser) and the reading of the flash is now consistently just over 5000 Kelvin, with CC of 0. I would like to test the meter with light sources of consistent Kelvin and CC ratings. Are any such light sources easily available?

Thank you!

What kind of readings are you getting from midday full sunshine?
What was the reading with the flash at full power?

Have you tried setting your camera to flash and using the flash asa light source when photographing a standard Xrite (now Calibrite) 24-patch ColorChecker both with and without the gel?
