A6400 Dummy battery DC power source

I am trying to record a video of a 5+ hour event. I purchased a GoNine dummy battery from amazon that came with an AC power adapter. The logic being that I don't want the battery inside the camera producing heat.

I'd like to know if anyone has replaced the AC power adapter with a DC source with success. The camera requires 7.6V-2A and the AC power adapter output is measured at 8.1V.

I connected it to a powerbank that is rated 5V-2A or 9V-2A or 12V-2A and the camera wouldn't power on. I suspect that the powerbank delivers 9V only to 'smart' mobiles with fast charging capabilities. I dont want to connect the powerbank to the camera directly to simultaneously charge and discharge the in-camera battery. It produces too much heat.

Any DIY setup or battery charger packs that feature a power out port ? Making the battery hot swappable would be a bonus.

Thanks
