Maybe rent a 100-400 and try it with some of your subjects?

Thank you Abbott. The sharpness of all the macro lens I had was very good in the centre (just like the ef 100 macro) but I'm complaining about the edges. At the moment of all the lenses I owned only 3 have a total sharpness: canon ef 16-35 f4, sigma art 50 f1.4 and canon ef 100 2.8 macro
