Hobbies provide us with a means to develop ourselves. Becoming engaged in an activity, and getting better at it are very healthy ways to improve wellbeing. It just sounds like you have hit a plateau with your development. Everyone does. Artists push through a plateau by giving themselves a project; for a photographer that could be shooting a new kind of subject, or a familiar subject in a new way. New gear can absolutely be a path forward in development, as it requires more learning and challenges you to get the most from that new equipment.

An X-T4 will open a bunch of new avenues for your photography by making new focal lengths and lower shutter speeds (IBIS) available. My guess is that it will reinvigorate your passion for using your x110f as well.
