Windows PC for Large Photoshop Files

I'm looking for recommendations for a Windows desktop made for editing large Photoshop files.

  • 64GB RAM
  • 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2
  • 4-6TB HDD for storage
  • AMD Ryzen preferred
  • Good cooling

More Info:

  • Use with Eizo EG2731 and second monitor
  • Shooting with a Sony a7Riii, so the files are large.
  • I am a fine art photographer.
  • When edited, the files are 2GB TIFFs, which will be printed as at 40x50".

Computer Considerations/Options:

  • Dell Alienware r10
  • HP OMEN 30L
  • Lenovo
  • Something else?
  • Recommended video cards: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8GB GTX 1660 or something else?

Basically, I want to build the PC around Photoshop CC and Bridge; there will be no video editing.

it seems gaming machines have some advantages such as better cooling but I'm open to other suggestions (but I don't need high-level graphic cards since I'm not running video).

I understand that Photoshop’s actions are not multithreaded and according to PugetBench, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X AMD Ryzen 5 5600X seem well suited for my needs.

Other suggestions, tips and experiences are welcome!

Thanks, Steve
