There are a lot of people who are missing the simple  point when this issue is brought up.

The R bodies will not properly TTL and HSS simultaneously at the same time as they default to full power. This issue is compounded by the inability to bracket in any way while using strobes in the R bodies.

Sure, I shoot in manual nearly all the time too, but when I'm on location outdoors and the sun goes from 1/8000 sec to 3 stops brighter and then back again because of clouds within a matter of seconds,it helps out to be able to use both simultaneously when there's a small crew of a half dozen people with me standing around wondering why I'm fiddling around and not shooting. People constantly mentioning how a speed light mounted on top on the camera works fine are confusing the issue and hurting the very reason we post this issue, which is to get Canon to fix the firmware
