A very useful but overlooked Fuji feature

When I travel I usually don’t want to bring my laptop, yet I feel I need to backup the images I’ve taken. I know there are gadgets you can buy to facilitate this. But I’ve discovered an easy new way to do it without any added equipment.

On my Fuji cameras with two card slots, there’s a menu item in the playback menu for copying one card to the other. At the end of the day I copy the images from slot 1 to slot 2. I can use older, slower sd cards that I never normally use. Then I remove the slot 2 card from the camera and store it separately from the camera. It’s quick and very easy, and protects the images even if I lose the camera. A great discovery.
