Powershot S70: For Fun
1

Recently did some re-organizing, cleaning, dusting... and decided to charge up my old S70 and take a product shot of the G1X Mark III. Surprised to say even at 400 ISO I'm pretty impressed considering it's such an old camera. Man that old CCD look is evident to me- maybe not so much to everyone nor in this picture in particular- but it's there.

Forgot how much I liked it's build quality and overall handling/feel. Its such a little well built gem and surprisingly comfortable in the hand. The sliding dust cover slash on/off switch is really nicely made- so smooth, and a unique feature compared to modern cameras.

Think I may take it out in the world and have some fun at ISO 50 in raw, perhaps do some monochrome. Btw, the Adobe Neutral preset is the best for raw to save DR and such. S70 is full of chroma noise at 400 ISO- but that is easily removed and has really nice uniform luminescence noise grain with no fixed pattern banding. Great for b/w shots.

400 ISO, chroma NR applied, touch of LNR (didn't need any honestly).
