Red Wattlebird, one of Australia's nectar-eating bullies

My daughter has many grevillia species in her front garden that attract all the nectar eating birds including a number of raucous Red Wattlebirds that chase off all the smaller honeyeaters.  Last spring/summer they did a good job intimidating our young Jack Russell cross (Pilbara Special), Jose, swooping him whenever he appeared.  This year he's on the offensive dancing around under the trees yapping until they fly off.  Jose 1, Red Wattlebirds 0.  The birds get to have run of the garden once Jose goes home.  (Red Wattlebird calls courtesy of Graeme Chapman)

Taken in low late afternoon light at ISO6400, 1/250s.

Replying to Jose's yapping below.
