Sometimes the problem is with old ink cartridges that have an internal sponge even if they show plenty of ink left. So, the ink doesn't flow correctly, leading to air entrainment in the system, and a cleaning cycle only exacerbates the problem. The enduser thinks it's a clogged head when in fact the source of the trouble is the lack of ink reaching the print heads.  Unfortunately, buying a whole new set of OEM ink cartridges to test the theory can be an expensive gamble. It is what it is.
