But to answer the question, repairing any port on that camera would be more expensive than you think, probably upwards of $200. Usually the charging port is soldered on the mainboard, meaning you gotta replace the whole thing, which would be even more expensive.

I used to be an electronic technician (among other things). Replacing a soldered component is easy. I could teach you how to do it in 5 minutes.

Thanks to both of you for the input. If it comes down to it, it's good to know that repair/replacement is not impossible.
