What do you use it for?

If it's for charging, just get a standalone charger (and some spare batteries)

Charging and file transfer. Both are still working - I'm just worried that I may've damaged the plug and/or circuit board in a way that may pop up later.

Thankfully I have the standalone charger and a spare battery in case that becomes an issue.

The USB port is only essential for one thing: updating firmware. You may never need to do that, but it might be worth keeping the port for that use only. Battery charging and file uploading can both be better done by other means.

Thanks, that is reassuring!
