How much better is the A1 than A9 acquiring focus on dark low contrast moving subjects?

I understand that this is difficult to quantify and is technique & lens dependant but I would value any experience folks here can share on the focus acquisition differences between the A9 and A1 for moving dark low contrast subjects.

I currently use an original A9 with SEL100400GM & SEL24105G lenses to photograph my black labradors running around (example below). The number of in focus frames I get is lower than I would like. This is often because the camera (in whatever configuration I test) focuses on some part of the dog other than the eyes. Do you think the A1 would reduce instances of this?

A9 with SEL100400GM (400mm, f/5.6, 1/800s, ISO 10,000)

ANSWER:
Sony a1 Sony a9
