Both lenses are fantastic but I would question whether buying a 35, if you already own a 50, is the right step.

Might be worth considering a 28 or 24 as the next purchase. Perhaps even the 21 SE, a marvellous lens.

If you are convinced the 35 is your next purchase, you will not be disapointed.

A question to the owners of both lenses : I have 50 Summilux in use now and enjoy the pictures coming out of it!

However , 35 mm is the next focus length I want to invest in : are there any differences between the 2 except focuslength concerning character, sharpness and flare , bokeh?

Thanks

You have a point there as 35 is not that far from 50 mm.

Another option would be a 28 summilux , a bit heavier and the reviews are very positive as well.
