The way I look at it is this: Anyone can take a photo of an insect. But how many photographers can take a photo that people want to save as wallpaper, or hang on the wall? Taking any photo is easy, creating a image that invokes an emotional response in the viewer is tough.

Of course, it would help if I had much idea about how the background is going to come out, given the lighting conditions and the settings I need, but I'm not there yet!

In time you will be able to see it in your mind -something else that happens eventually when you do all of your framing with the view finder. I can look at a critter from a distance and see the 2x shot that I want to take, and I am not special.

Always minimal post processing and no cropping -unless you count the viewfinder...
